Saturday, November 17

We can and we will end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in our community. But it takes all of us joining forces in support of those in our community living with or impacted by this disease.

Join us for the 2018 Ron Johnson Red Ribbon Run & AIDS Walk.

So much has changed since the dawn of the AIDS epidemic, when we had no medications to combat this deadly virus and doctors could only provide counsel and solace. Winter Walk for AIDS in Greensboro began as a vigil to commemorate those whose lives had been claimed by the deadly disease.

Today, we continue to annually honor those who have walked before us but cannot anymore, but we also celebrate the progress in how far we have come.

Today, patients who are diagnosed with HIV, even those with AIDS can take complete control of this deadly virus with medication and proper care. We even dare to dream ending the epidemic through “treatment as prevention” and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) strategies.

Join hundreds from across Guilford County, North Carolina and surrounding areas to walk, run and give in support of the vital, life-sustaining care, education, support, and prevention services Triad Health Project provides each year to people in our community affected by HIV/AIDS.

Together, we are the key to ending this epidemic.

Meet Our Run/Walk’s Namesake, Ron Johnson

Ron is a partner in the law firm of Johnson, Peddrick & McDonald, PLLC in Greensboro, NC. His practice area is Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Business Law, and Nonprofit Corporations. A founder of Triad Health Project, past president of the THP Board of Directors, and longtime THP supporter and advocate, Ron has consistently been the single largest individual fundraiser for THP’s AIDS Walk for 26 consecutive years, raising more than $600,000. Ron’s heartfelt and inspiring commitment to THP honors his promise to the late “Mrs. Leon”, Aileen Oldham, founder of Leon’s Style Salons and Beauty School, that he would carry on her legacy as the top fundraiser for this event that was originally known as the Winter Walk for AIDS.
