The Ron Johnson Red Ribbon Run & AIDS Walk is a fundraising 5K run and walk in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. The event benefits Triad Health Project programs that prevent HIV and provide compassionate care and support for those living with HIV.
2:00-3:00 pm: Registration
Participants are encouraged to bring all donations collected offline to turn them in during registration. Participants who have raised at least $100 by October 1 and have not yet picked up their complimentary event t-shirt can do so during registration.
3:30 pm: Opening Ceremony
3:35 pm: 5K Run Begins
3:40 pm: Walk Begins
We want participants to have fun and enjoy the course. Safety is our top priority.
Early Bird Registration Fee: $25, May 2 – August 31
Regular Registration Fee: $35, September 1 – November 13 (online run registration ends at midnight, November 13)
Same day registration available at Joymongers on race day until 3:00pm (Late Entry Registration Fee for same day registration is $40)
You don’t have to be at the physical event location to participate in the Red Ribbon Run & AIDS Walk — anyone can be a Virtual Runner or Walker! By joining us as a Virtual Participant, you can run or walk from any location you choose. Run, jog, walk around your neighborhood, on a trail, treadmill, or at the gym.
Registration Fee: $25, May 2 – November 16 (3:00 pm)
Registration fees are non-fefundable.
Before November 14, you may transfer your 5K RUN registration to another runner. After November 14, registrations are non-transferable. We are unable to make exceptions.
Ron Johnson is a partner in the law firm of Johnson, Peddrick & McDonald, PLLC in Greensboro, NC, which specializes in estate planning, estate administration, business law, and nonprofit corporations. He is a founder of Triad Health Project, past president of the THP Board of Directors, and a longtime THP supporter and advocate. Named 2017’s Outstanding Philanthropist of Greensboro, Ron Johnson has consistently been the single largest individual fundraiser for THP’s AIDS Walk for 27 consecutive years, raising nearly $700,000. Ron’s heartfelt and inspiring commitment to THP honors his promise to the late “Mrs. Leon,” Aileen Oldham, founder of Leon’s Style Salons and Beauty School, that he would carry on her legacy as the top fundraiser for this event, originally known as the Winter Walk for AIDS.
